Sexual well-being and virility are essential for most men. As males age, impotence is growing increasingly more important. Because this topic is widely talked about in mass media, males regardless of age are looking for specialist aid and assistance to better their relationships and experience a satisfying intimate life. Almost 30 mln of men in the United States are reported to have erectile dysfunction. The U.S. FDA has sanctioned only three oral therapies to treat ED: Cialis, Levitra, and Viagra. The medicines relax and widen the penile vessels allowing more blood to flow to the organ, so that when a man is sexually stimulated, he can achieve an erection. There are minor differences in how long and how speedily the drug takes effect. Levitra works a little longer than Viagra. They both take effect in about half an hour. With Levitra, the effects last for approximately 5 hours. With Viagra, the effects last around 4 hours. Cialis works a bit quicker (within about 15 minutes), and the effects last much longer - up to 36 hours in some cases. Though each drug has proved highly potent, none is cure-all. And they can result in health problems if used with other medications, especially with nitrate or nitroglycerin coronary drugs, as well as lead to more general side effects, such as are headaches, sweating, dyspepsia, redness in face, neck and/or chest and - in case of Viagra - visual problems. The medicines are contraindicated in men with cardiac problems, anatomical malformations of the penis, in males predisposed to elongated erections triggered by blood cell disorders, liver and kidney problems, in men taking certain medications for HIV, in those over 65, in males having a recent history of a heart attack, stroke or heart rhythm disorder. Deaths have occurred during sexual activity in men taking the pills. Please, consult your medical practitioner before taking the drugs. If your general practitioner has prescribed you one of the drugs, strictly follow the recommended dosage.
